Seeing a psychologist is not like visiting a medical doctor in that psychotherapy requires a very active effort on your part.  In order to be most successful, you will have to work on things we talk about both during our sessions and at home between sessions.

My normal practice is to conduct an evaluation that will last from 2 to 4 sessions.  During this time, we can both decide whether I am the best person to provide the services that you need in order to meet your treatment objectives.  If it seems that a change of provider is best way for you to accomplish your goals, I will be glad to help you make that transition.

I work with adults in individual, couples and groups settings.  Areas of focus may include:

  • Adult children of alcoholics/Dysfunctional families
  • Adult survivors of sexual, emotional or physical abuse
  • Alcohol & Drug Addiction
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Codependency
  • Compulsive behaviors
  • Communication challenges
  • Depression
  • Grief
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Sex Addiction
  • Stress management
  • Vocational counseling
